Yeah I thought Clem was fit again to play, or maybe hes just keeping him for league games.

hirtsy, according to skysports sunday, parker was out due to illness against spurs and will be straight in the side against birmingham! :crying:

Maybe so, but the NUFC Official site tonight says otherwise -

Roeder - Parker to return on Saturday..

GLENN ROEDER has given a vote of confidence to the full Newcastle United team which won at Spurs on Sunday.

For the United boss will name an unchanged side for Wednesday's FA Cup Third Round replay with Birmingham City at St James' Park.

And Roeder will even have the same substitutes on the bench, including teenagers David Edgar, James Troisi and Andy Carroll.

But the United boss hopes to have midfielders Emre and his skipper Scott Parker back for Saturday's Premiership match with his former club West Ham United at St James' Park.

Roeder said: "There will be no changes for tomorrow tonight and we will have the same personnel on our bench.

"But we are hoping to have both Scotty Parker and Emre back by the time West Ham come here on Saturday.

We can live in hope....

KRO,

C.

What rubbish........ You think Bruce really cares about the Cup ??

Do us really ?

I`d rather get outta the Championship, It`s worth a great deal more and ffs, Newcastle are struggling with players out.

I couldn`t give a toss if we win or lose tomorrow.it`s a bonus yes in monetary terms, but we have to be careful with the amount of games still left (Injuries/suspensions etc.)

We have to be wary

do we think upson will pick up one of them sudden injuries which will keep him out tonight?
my own view is ,the league is so important ,we must get out this season,so if we go out of the cup i wont be too dissapointed,
but if we progress then im not sure we have a big enough squad to cope with extra games,
we seem sure to lose dunn,we must replace him ,we must get cover for right and left back ,
so really nothing has changed .apart from vine of course,

I have to say has Bruce completely lost his marbles??

NGotty hasn't played for 3 months - i can just see us being 2-0 down after 10 minutes..game over.

Why not play Upson & Taylor...we've all been resting for 11 days so to play Wednesday and then Saturday at 5.15 shouldn't be a problem for one of them (as Jaidi could play on Saturday)

Seems bizarre to me all this.

i see your point but would you be saying the same if 2 or 3 of those defenders got in jured and missed some league games? we have leicester away this week, far more important than the fa cup imo.....

Newcastle will field same XI who started against Spurs, with same 5 on bench as well :

Shay Given, Nolberto Solano, Kieron Dyer, Obafemi Martins, James Milner, Antoine Sibierski, Nicky Butt, Peter Ramage, Steven Taylor, Paul Huntington, Matty Pattison.

Subs: Steve Harper, David Edgar, Alan O'Brien, Andy Carroll, James Troisi.

So no Emre, and no Scott Parker.

(This from the NUFC web site).

C.

On the Newcastle sites the opinion is that Parker is unlikely to be risked tonight as he is still carrying a stomach injury.

He will go right back because of no kelly and he will wanna play jonty in the middle again as clem wont be back till saturday i do not think this signals upsons departure.

Spot on I reckon. N'Gotty has played at right back for Bolton before I seem to remember. People often moan about 'not giving the youngsters a chance' but would they rather have Pearce involved/travelling as cover than 'squad number blocker' Tebily?

I hope N'gotty picks his game up, he wasn't very good earlier in the season, and that's putting it mildly.

When is Clemence back?

Ye of little faith.

Reading this thread now for the first time is making me almost

If that is what gathering cobwebs does for N'Gotty's game then let him gather a few more over the enxt few days. He took his goal brilliantly and had a very good game all round.

Well said k-bek......NGotty was outstanding and i was sooo wrong to suggest it was a bad team-selection.

I think i'll leave it all to the manager next time! ;)

I take back everything I said about N'Gotty....
How he played for 90 minutes and scored a cracking goal like that when he hasn't played a game for three months is beyond me....
It defies logic!
Just give me whatever he's taking every day....

I too take it all back aswell, I feared the worst when I saw him at right-back but he was immense. Capped it off with a fabulous goal.

Well done Bruno!!!
